Sonia Silva

In her research, drawing on two years of ethnographic fieldwork in northwest Zambia, Sónia Silva focuses on the intersection among ritual and religion, materiality and materialization, embodiment, and violence. She is the author of Along an African Border: Angolan Refugees and Their Divination Baskets (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2011) and numerous articles. Silva is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York.
